Hapuka Rock is Pumping

One of our Clients from over the ditch was ready for his first shot at Hapuka. We headed out from Paihia early on Friday morning. It did not take too long to get out there with our new 885 Extreme powered by 2 Honda 200s! Very impressed with the time taken & the efficiency of fuel used! When we got to my spot x "Hapuka Rock" there was lots of sign that the Hapuka were around so we dropped our lines in (2 Daiwa electric reels) and the bites were there. With half a dozen nice sized fish it was time to move off to chase some inshore species which were on the chew so a great day was had. The Hapuka are still around in the deep grounds so plenty of time left to grab a few mates and jump on board. The water is still a good temp as we get closer to the end of spring the scout snapper will start to come in and then its time to hit the school fish in close with soft baits.
